Some will say the salary cap restricts clubs from going to the market place as often as they once did, and thats a reasonable essment. But prudent buying is no fluke. And Manly, with no silvertail chequebook anymore, have done it better than most. Their reward is much deserved. This is rags to riches.Beaver Menzies trully deserves this, he has stuck with manly when they had very little and has always gave 100 percent. And i think manly have 2 of the best wingers in the game.

Its amazing to think that michael robertson,glenn hall,mark bryant and heath l’estrange were unwanted at their former clubs and steve matai has been transformed from a talented queensland cup time bomb to a tough as nails international centre. Also Glen and Brett stewart, david williams,watmough,ballin and cuthbertson who didn’t make the 17 man cut-off have developed wonderfully under the professional coaching at brookvale. Manly are winning over a new host of fans and prudent buying is no fluke
